The Mind Game Plot
Set two years after series 4, Sherlock and John are still living their dangerous lives in their small flat at 221B Baker Street. Not only are they solving cases with (for) the New Scotland Yard and private clients, but they are also tasked with raising Rosamund Watson, John’s two year old daughter.
Low and behold to them both, a criminal they helped the NSY arrest is being released due to lack of evidence in three murder cases. The serial killer, Gillion Renny, was arrested for the murder of three people two years prior to the story’s beginning. He was caught by Sherlock and John one April night in an abandoned factory, but something felt off about this case with Gillion. It wasn’t until Sherlock heard his name again that he wanted to know why he had felt what he did on that night.
Now with Gillion walking free, he seeks revenge on Sherlock to finish what he was assigned to do. Burn the heart out of Sherlock Holmes, something Gillion’s boss wanted to do for so long. He visits Sherlock one day when a fight starts and Sherlock is struck in the head. Wanting to tare the detective down piece by piece, Gillion leaves the detective unconscious, alone, and with a concussion. This adaptation follows Sherlock’s recovery and how he looks to his past for guidance. Unfortunately, his past was not a good one. All while trying to get Gillion back behind bars, Sherlock and John also try to figure out why this case is so familiar to them. But with an injured Sherlock, catching the killer will not be like it has always been.
Pasts will be revealed, promises will be broken, and futures will be made.
